Cremation prices in Orlando vary more than most families expect. Two providers can quote very different amounts for what sounds like the same service, because packages include different items. This guide explains what drives the cost and how to compare.
General planning ranges
These are broad planning ranges used by our funeral cost calculator. They are not quotes and not any provider’s prices.

Add-ons such as an urn, flowers, an obituary, certified death certificates and a niche or burial of the urn can add several hundred to several thousand dollars.
What affects the price
- Basic services fee. Every funeral home charges a non-declinable basic services fee; it can be a large share of the total.
- Transfer. Distance, stairs and after-hours calls can increase the cost.
- Container. An alternative container costs far less than a casket. You are not required to buy a casket for cremation.
- Embalming and viewing. Only needed if you choose certain viewings; they add preparation, facility and staff charges.
- Urn. Ranges from inexpensive to several hundred dollars or more. You may buy one elsewhere.
- Crematory fee. Sometimes included, sometimes a separate line.
- Cash advance items. Death certificates, obituary notices and clergy honoraria are paid to others on your behalf.
How to compare providers
- Ask each provider for its General Price List. Funeral homes must give you prices over the phone and hand you a written list in person under the FTC Funeral Rule.
- Compare what is included, not just the headline number.
