• Compare the same set of services at each funeral home.
• Look for items included in a package at one funeral home but itemized at another.
• Ask whether cash advance items (death certificates, obituary, clergy) are estimates and whether a service charge is added.
• Leave items blank if you do not want them. Apart from the basic services fee, you can decline any item.
